Do brown shoes go with a black dress??
Oh my little Pumpkin!

Black dress, fine.

Fishnet...that's a never.

Grey coat could be used over black dress if they are of the same style. (evening+evening...day+day...etc)

Brown mary janes need to be worn with an outfit in the same color family.

Beige, brown, yellow, gold, orange, etc.

Keep it simple.

Little black dress, 2-inch to 3-inch black pumps and a simple strand of pearls. This outfit will take you anywhere after 6pm.

Loose the pearls and wear a complimentary scarf if before 6pm.
Reply:Sure you can wear brown shoes. You will have to buy accessories. Like a brown purse or brown earrrings
Reply:personally i don't like brown and black together but since the dress also has cream on it then it could work...

its hard to decide because we dont know the exact style or shape of the dress and shoes but if you think it looks good then who cares?! flaunt it

:)
Reply:no sorry! brown shoes do not go with a black dress! i wouldnt try!!
Reply:FASHION NO NO!

Never wear brown shoes and black clothes together, or vice-versa. That's almost as bad as wearing white socks with black shoes!

Wear brown shoes with pretty much anything other than black. Brown looks espeically good with shades of tan/cream, green, blue....
Reply:uh????
Reply:Cream and brown jewelry to accentuate the shoes and to make it match more with the dress. Perhaps pearls and some dark beads or something... earrings help too! Just don't overdo it...

It sounds cute...wish I could see it!
Reply:The brown might be okay if you use other brown accessories. I think some pretty colored shoes like purple would look cute...but that's not really an old fashioned look.
Reply:Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo don't do it!! where some nice black or white shoes with the black dress and coat or die when Trinny and Susana catch up with you...

Just a word of warning ^-^
Reply:it goes perfect
Reply:no brown shoes wit black dress.

u can wear brown shoes wit any color but black or gray.

i think u need a pop of color wit that dress. so since u want old fashion wear classic red pumps. u will be so happy u invested in them.
Reply:Never!
Reply:Stick with one or two colors. (And NEVER wear a black outfit with brown shoes)
Reply:NO! but all red, all white, all silver, and all black shoes do.
Reply:Nope, my dear.
Reply:yes it maches i was at a dress party 2 see who dresses the best and who mached the best and thats exactly wat the winner wore so definitly were it i bet its reeeeeeeeeeely pretty
Reply:I would use the brown shoes...go with a light green color...that always helps...I am not sure about the gray unless it looks really nice...when you look in the mirror...you should see someone very elegant...so I think it is wise to make your own decision even after my advice..hope this helps...lol BROWN SHOES ARE GREAT...BE INDIVIDUAL...LOL IT HELPS, especially if they are really really dark brown...kk
Reply:absolutly not! black and brown are horrible together
Reply:Only if you have a brown (the same brown) necklace, scarf or purse....You need a pic to get a real answer. The entire outfit sounds like you have the potential to turns heads.....laughing on one hand or thinking..what a cute little girl lookin old timey, if it weren't for those hooker tights...
Reply:I suggest silver shoes
Reply:never wear brown shoes with a black dress. Try black shoes.
Reply:no. ok wear black shoes.
Reply:A lot of people say that black and brown don't go together, but I think if it's done the right way, they do go together. If it looks right to you, then it probably doesn't look bad. It would be much easier to answer this question if you could take a picture of the outfit, or find similar items online and post pictures of those items!
Reply:In this day and age anything goes, Although, I still have a problem with white all year long, Anyway, A nice black dress and brown shoes...well, ok, make it go, add brown..belt, neck-less, hair band things like that. It would work. Don't forget your nail polish color that can really help with the grey coat.
Reply:NEVER WEAR A BLACK DRESS WITH BROWN SHOES.

IT'S LIKE THROWING A RED FLAG AT BULL WHEN YOU GO OUT. TRY OUT RED.

Reply:No, I'm old school when it comes to matching shoes, purses, etc.
Reply:I think you'll look fabulas.
Reply:i would just wear it
Reply:i wouldnt go with brown.. too many staple colors dont necessarily look all that good together. staple colors are colors like black, brown, camel, gray, beige, tan, navy, etc. If the dress has a cream color panel down the front, then the tights will be okay color wise. Black and Gray go together marvelously, however, adding brown into the mix.. plus cream, is not that great. opt for black shoes, instead with this outfit. Other great colors to pair those brown shoes with are just about anything because staple colors look good with just about everything, except for with eachother most of the times unless maybe brown and tan.. because they both have warm undertones, they will pair nicely. I hope i helped. :) if you have any more questions feel free to email me and I'll be more than happy to help.
Reply:Like many people I would say no no! However, depending on the style of your dress you could manage to get away with it if you accessorise correctly. For example, take boho chic, accessorise with brown bangles and a large belt that cuts across your stomach rather than waste. Also try to match the belt with the closest colour to your shoes and matching handbag! Finish the look with natural make up and curls or waves rather than straight hair. This will make a difference between ewww to wow. However, going off what you've said I don't think this will work. In general, brown and black are a no when it comes to formal. I hope this helps.
Reply:Brown shoes with black dress? Never.
