What color shoes/nylons w/red cocktail dress?

I just bought a red sexy cocktail dress and have no idea what color shoes and nylons to wear w/it. I would like to wear of black shoes I have but what color nylons do I wear? Plz help.

nude/sheer nylons ... black contrasting with a red dress went out in the early 90's ... nude hose is a lot more classy, you should be fine with the black shoes (they are also more subtle than red shoes and will keep the focus on your dress rather than your feet) ... if you can accessorize with black jewelry, it will pull the look together nicely ...
Reply:Strappy heels for certain, in black, gold, or silver. Please, don't go red - you will look like a bridesmaid. I'd go with nude nylons. You could also choose some with a subtle print in a neutral color.

Reply:Your shoes, if possible, should match your hem-line. Your hose should match your shoes if possible, or a shade lighter than the shoes. For example, no black hose with white shoes!. In your case, red shoes and natural hose would work best. If you really want to wear black shoes, then natural hose would work , but try the very,very sheer black hose to see if that works with the red color in the dress you want to wear. In the summer, off-white shoes and very light hose would work with the red, but this time of year, I think the red shoes,natural hose is the absolute best, but black shoes, natural hose, or very very sheer black hose would be good also.
