What shoes with this dress?

Any ideas what shape/colour shoe would go with this dress? It's for a formal wedding and reception - boys in dinner suits and girls have to go 'glam' (the invite says so...). http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stor...





It's a cream dress, not white by the way and comes to just below my knee. If anyone has any specific shoe designs in mind, send me a link! (UK) Don't tell me to get a different dress either please guys - I've bought it especially =)





Also, any ideas what jewellery to wear? I want to wear a necklace but wondered what type, with the dress being a halterneck...

i think that either high-heeled, peep toe black satin shoes or black espadrille platforms would look the best. flats wouldn't look 'glam' at all and heels make you look smart and well dressed.





as far as jewelry is concerned, i say leave your neck bare, maybe wear some black gypsy-style earrings (if you know the ones i mean) and some chunky black plastic bangles.

As in for jewellery, i would choose a simple bracelet to go with the dress, a necklace will make the halterneck style too fussy.

Reply:where a nice white or cream strappy high heel shoe. if u can get diamond accents, that wud be great! just so simple, dont go with something over the top, then all eyes will be on your shoes, not on u or ur dress, and u dont want that. and jewelry, a nice diamond cross or pendant (not too flashy), medium size hoop earrings or diamond studs, and a matching braclet. thats all the jewelry u need, again dont over do it!

high heals ... black! ... open as much as possible ... shoes where you can see only thin belts over the foot.


as for jewelry ... well ... if the dress is cream, real pearls (not white) would go great!

Reply:i agree with everyone else about the strappy sandals. it is meant to be summer (not sure with the weather being like this!). no to boots as you are meant to be glam, the dress would look awful with boots, and you don't want to look like you're just going to the pub.





i wouldn't go with pearls for the necklace though, as they can look a bit dated with a modern dress like that. as it's a halterneck, go for a small pendant that will hang nicely. however, you could probably go without a necklace as it is a halterneck and i've found it does get in the way of the ties at the neck.


perhaps just go with a pretty pair of jewelled dangly earrings if you want to wear jewellery.

some strings of pearl would look great with this dress if you go for black shoes.





if you go for jewelled shoes go for a simple crystal pendant or a plain gold cuff.





have you thought about wearing a hair accessory there are lots about in black and cream this season.
