What kind of shoes with this red dress?

It is strapless, plain, deep red, falls about mid-calf, A-line skirt, boned bodice. What style and color of shoes does anyone suggest? I am just now beginning to learn all the "girl" things at 24 years old....so these things I just don't know! :) :) HELP???

Contrary to what everyone's advising - I'm thinking dark red shoes really would look cool with the outfit! (Just make sure they dont look like Dorothy's Ruby Red Shoes!!!)


Or maybe a really funky looking shoe to set off the classic cut of the dress!!


Or you can try jeweltoned shoes with it!


If you do wear black shoes- try to wear something which has a surprise element to them... strappy sandals and pointy shoes not withstanding!!


Of course they have to be heels - but make sure that that is at a height and style that's comfortable for you... it wouldnt do to fall down in a heap when you're trying to make an impression!! (Wedges are a great idea if u are new to heels by the way!!)

i'd recommend some black heels, and probably the pointy kind. i love those! i got some from payless that are shiny, and they are my FAV pair of shoes.

Reply:You want a "dressy" shoe - definitely NOT one with a wood sole. If you are comfortable in heels, check out these sights - since the dress is very simple, a shoe with a little embellishment (rhinestones, velvet bow, satin w/trim) would be perfect in either black, dark red or a metallic (to match your jewellry). The Nordstrom website is a great place to get ideas....

personally i would wear gold ballet pumps =) and they could match gold jewellary (but not too much)

Reply:as the other said .....you can do black or a neutral color (not too light though) - or a goldtone strappy or silver strappy or find a unique pair that makes a statement with a bit of the red in the dress within the pattern.... like something with beading or appliques, don't forget the handbag/clutch!..... go bare legged or wear nude hose! (not black!)

Reply:if you go with the traditional black--make them a slinky sandal, purse should make.I would like to suggest--very slinky silver sandals and a silver hand bag----then put on a silver chain with a solitaire and threader earrings that have a single stone at the end.Simple but flash.If you're going to dinner--use pearls and pearl color accessories...Good luck..

Reply:I would go with a pair of black stilettos either 3" to about 4 1/2" pump with or with out a ankle strap for added appeal if no ankle strap add a nice gold anklet to complete the look.

Reply:depends on the occasion and your accessories.. if you are going to be indoors and it is a fancy affair -- go for strappy red high heels. Red Lips is a brand I have that would actually go perfect with that dress. Strappy black is nice, but a bit overdone. You could pull it off with metalics, which are hot these days, like gold or silver/dark grau.





the key is to match your accessories -- your shawl, or jacket/sweater (only wear a cropped one that ends at your rib cage) and your purse. Say you did black shoes -- you should get a black wrap/jacket/sweater, purse and necklace/earrings. If did red shoes, then you'd have more freedom with your accessories -- like diamond/crystals or all sliver...or all black for that matter. :)





If it is not such a fancy affair -- tall, high heeled boots would be HOT. If you go for tan color (esp. with a wedge heal), a cropped jean jacket would be nice. But black spiked boots...hottt. Don't forget about matching your accessories.

Reply:Somehting black and sexy, your dress seems to be really nice , but dont even think about red shoes, just wear some black shoes with stripes, if u dont have any i am sure any of your freidns would, red is a great coclour and black is the perfect convination.
