What goes with a black dress and sweater and silver shoes?

I'm not usually one to ask for fashion advice but...I NEED HELP!! lol

ok so I have a really pretty off-black dress(v neck, stiff-ish cotton, flares out and elastic waist) with a really black sweater and flat silver shiny shoes...





I had bought a nice dark purple shirt to put underneath because I don't feel like flashing the public (lol)...but it turned out to be WAY too dark and it looks like I'm going to a funeral with silver shoes...





I want to know what color I should buy for the shirt...my mom said silver to match the shoes but I still think it would be too monotone...

Honestly, any bright color would look fabulous with it, because you are going neutral with everything else. I think it all depends on the colors that you are comfortable in, but try to stay away from any dark colors, which will clash with the black (sounds strange, I know)
