please help! my mom doesnt think it goes at all and the wedding is in a little over a month! please be brutal!
Can I wear silver colored shoes with my ivory wedding dress?
Beautiful dress! I have to agree with your mom. I think that there is too much gold coloring in the ivory dress.
From experience, I would not purchase an expensive shoe or heels. No one will see the shoes, they will become uncomfortable and you'll end up taking them off.
If you don't want to wear a flat, go for a lower heel. I would buy a pair of the dyeable shoes (Nordstroms, zappos.com, Payless and Payless.com) and have them dye it a shade closer to your dress. Or at least go out and buy an ivory colored pair of shoes. DSW shoe warehouse is amazing as far as selection is concerned!
Good luck and congratulations!
Reply:Yes you can. Your not really going to see your shoes that much anyway so go with whatever you feel comfy in.
Reply:I'm on brides.com too. I think it will do good. It doesn't look bad at all. Alot of modern day brides are wearing silver shoes now. I think the dress and shoes will not clash. The dress is not a dark ivory and the silver shoes are not so flashy silver but its more subtle- I'm sure you will look beatiful with both together.
Reply:It's your wedding - didn't you know the dress was the one? So why are you asking about the shoes? Don't like try to wear these shoes - find the shoes that are the same feeling as the one, like the dress, clear your schedule, because you have to find shoes, everything else can be resolved and worked out - shoes have to be comfortable, you are going to be in them for what seems like forever, don't get anything weird that you don't know how it fits
I suggest a simpler designed shoe - same color as your dress, you really have to know how to pull off anything else, no time to risk unless your paying someone $450 an hour to guide you
Don't get a whole big broche looking thing on the top of the tip of the shoe, get something simpler and a simpler shiny trim that offsets your top and not compete with each other, you want to complement, these two conflict and you keep the dress and find different shoes
recap: whatever color your top trim is, same color trim around a simple ivory shoe with big simple shiny jewel up front but not too big that it competes with the dress
Reply:I had my wife come over and look at the pictures and this was her response - The dress has gold beading details on an ivory dress. The shoes are silver with rhinestones. If your not incorporating rhinestones in the rest of the bridal attire. Then the shoes will not go. However, if you have a theme wedding in mind and your paying homage to the theme of the wedding. For example: Cinderella or maybe even Wicked with those beautiful silver shoes, They would be perfect. My honest answer by not knowing any more details than just looking at the dress....No.....They don't go.....P.S. Its your wedding not your moms....If you like the silver shoes....Wear them. Its what makes you happy. Not your Mother. Congratulations on your Wedding.....Hope it turns out wonderful.....
Reply:I think you absolutely can. the styles are in a similar genre and color tone. I think it looks classy but adventurous
Reply:Ok, I to am getting married and yes this was a issue with me to. Does the dress have any silver? If so yes. But if its going to be a really bad issue I went to Davids Bridal and found shoes that mached my dress perfect. Also they dye shoes there. Also keep in mind if there is any silver any other place in you wedding.Good Luck!
Reply:Oh boy that's a toughy... If you ABSOULUTLY POSITIVALY can't find a different pair, then yes. If you have a good friend that is willing to help you find a different pair, then go shopping.
Reply:White? Yes. Ivory? I wouldn't chance it. I'm afraid you might need to find another pair to go with the dress. Way cute shoes though.
Reply:try pearl... that's what my friend wore...
